Shucked to open at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre

The award winning Broadway musical comedy Shucked is heading to London. The show will open at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre this summer.
Shucked is set to run in London from 10 May to 14 June 2025. The director of the original Broadway production, Jack O'Brien (Hairspray), will also direct the London premiere.
The cast will include Sophie McShera (Downton Abbey) as Maizy, Monique Ashe-Palmer (Standing at the Sky’s Edge) as Storyteller 1, Ben Joyce (Back to the Future) as Beau, Georgina Onuorah (Oklahoma!) as Lulu, Keith Ramsay (The Play That Goes Wrong) as Peanut, Matthew Seadon-Young (The Baker’s Wife) as Gordy, and Steven Webb (Here You Come Again!) as Storyteller 2. Further casting is yet to be announced.
The musical features a country music style score with songs by Nashville-based composers Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally. It also features a book by Robert Horn. Songs include 'Somebody Will', 'Independently Owned', and 'Woman of the World'.
Shucked tells the story of Maizy and Beau were are getting married. When the corn that protects their small community starts to die, the town needs a solution. The question is... who will dare to venture beyond the borders of Cob County?
Shucked will play at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre from 10 May to 14 June 2025.
