2024 Tony Award Nominations Announced

The words 77th Annual Tony Awards - Meet The 2024 Nominees on a glitzy background
77th Annual Tony Awards

In what has been a frankly exceptional year across the pond, it feels more than fair to say that Broadway is back. From the 2020 Award Season (hosted in 2021) where the Tony Voters struggled to get more than one nominee in some categories, to this year of an abundance in quite a few categories, the 2024 nominations are a surefire sign of a great previous 12 months in theatre with many more to come!

Announced live on CBS by Jesse Tyler Ferguson & Renée Elise Goldsberry, it's a fair performance for us Brits with three of our productions receiving nominations, albeit all from primarily US creative teams. Back To The Future (which started life in Manchester) has been nominated for 2 Tonys, Merrily We Roll Along (this revival of Maria Friedman's 2012 Menier Chocolate Factory production) has earned 7 nominations, and transfer of the current West End production of Cabaret has taken 8.

The awards ceremony will be hosted by Ariana DeBose on 16 June 2024.
